cheers to that saint..
what was the actual story behind valentines day?
and who says valentine is just another commericalised event? its just that people are taking the opportunity they see to earn greens. but the day doesnt mean any lesser than before..
During the Roman Empire, under the rule of Emperor Claudius II there were many bloody and unpopular campaigns, and he was known to the Romans as “Claudius the Cruel.” He cancelled all marriages and engagements, so that men could join the army.
Saint Valentine, who was a priest, strongly believed in love and secretly performed marriages for couples. He was caught performing a marriage and was sent to prison. While in prison he befriended a guard’s daughter. On the day he died he gave his new friend a note thanking her for her friendship and loyalty. He signed it, “Love from your Valentine.”
At that time Feb. 14 was the holiday to honor Juno, goddess of women and marriage. St. Valentine was beaten to death, beheaded and suffered martyrdom Feb. 14, around the year 270.

and should i thank my closest girls? for every help you gave to make it come true? lol..
and if you are wondering if i'm going to start on how my valentine was.. nope.
i've been reading blogs are talking to friends and listening to complains too.. before.. on.. and after valentine's day. haha.. and i wanna say. i used to be the same, its just that lord blessed me a gift this year..
to all my ex-club members.. and the one who complains about getting no flowers.. remember love comes in many different ways. :)
family.. friends.. even your lovely pets. that 14 feb is though just another day in life.. its a day to remind one of the love that surrounds you.. that we might have taken for granted. remember those times in secondary school? when everyone prepares presents, from decorated icecream sticks to lollypops to flower, for everyone else? when everyone single gathers around to bitch have fun.. and wish for prince charming to come but still enjoying the day, and life as single as such. and no one said we cant have fun without a partner. and no one said that we cant celebrate it with friends anymore at this age..
so i wanna take this chance to say.. none of you are lonely.. cos (wo)men aint everything in the world. take a look around you. and see this.
i love you.
and will always cherish you.

if i hadnt have japanese mid term tmr and another assignment due.. i would have penned down some essay for each of you. :) but then again.. sometimes things dont need to be said out loud.
